EC Teacher Assistant
The Candidate will work with students with complex learning needs and medically fragile students.
The individual will work closely with disabled students regularly to provide them with the physical, academic, and emotional support they need to maximize the benefits of the Exceptional Children's program and to accomplish IEP goals and requirements. All work is performed under the direction and supervision of the special education teachers.
The candidate must have at least 48 hours of creditable college credit or a two-year degree.
- Assist student/s assigned with personal care tasks, including but not limited to the lavatory, clothing hygiene, diapering, toileting, and wash-up routines.
- Accompany student/s to assigned locations within the building, accompany students to lunch, facilitate transitions, and assist student/s to and from the bus as needed.
- Lift, move, and cooperate with adaptive equipment.
- Assist with and monitor students during assigned periods within various school environments to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
